Incontri Internazionali di musica da camera, Este 2008

The Auyrn Quartet created a festival of concerts dedicated to chamber-music in 2007, which takes place annually in the town of Este, in the Veneto region of Italy. Show map.

The concerts are given in the beautiful 12th century church of San Martino , and friends and acquaintances from all over the world are invited to come and play. Most of the concerts are of chamber-music, but some solo recitalsalso take place.

In 2007 Dvorak was the central composer of the festival, and this year, celebrating his 175th birthday, we are featuring the music of Johannes Brahms.

All concerts take place in the Chiesa di San Martino, Este at 20.45 hrs.

15th June 2008
Auryn Quartet with Peter Orth , piano, play works by Haydn, Beethoven and Brahms (piano-quintet Op.34)

16th June 2008
the Grieg Trio from Norway, plays piano trios by Beethoven, Schostakovitch and Brahms.

17th June 2008
Dutch violinist Liza Ferschtman is joined by cellist Christian Poltéra , pianist Peter Orth and the Auryn´s violist Stewart Eaton for an evening of sonatas and other chamber-music:- Haydn´s "Gypsy" Trio, Bartok´s 2nd violin sonata, Bach´s D-minor cello suite, and the g-minor Brahms piano-quartet.

19th June 2008
cellist Christian Poltéra gives a recital , partnered by Peter Orth , and Auryn violinist Jens Oppermann. Music by Brahms, Beethoven, Lutoslawski and Kodaly.

21st June 2008
the Auryns are joined by violist Nobuko Imai and Christian Poltéra for sextets by Brahms and Schönberg , and the Dohnanyi String Trio.

22nd June 2008
the final concert in this year´s festival is given by the Auryn Quartet , with a little help from Nobuko Imai : Ligeti , Haydn and the G-major Brahms Quintet to finish off the proceedings.
